Have you ever considered getting a custom hand painted piece of artwork of your beloved doxie? If so, make sure you get what you pay for.

If you buy a portrait from a seller who claims that their work is handmade, make sure that in fact it is. It is in fact possible to  take an existing photo and simply add various image effects to it without any sort of creative input at all in a snap. I think we can agree that it certainly isn’t  fair to charge a premium for something that was just run through an automated software – and then claiming it was hand-made.

So do your due diligence on any seller before you order. Obviously, you have already seen the work on their website. But try to look further what’s on the surface. Look up reviews of the seller in Google or ask people in communities online.

Keep in mind, this certainly doesn’t mean that digital artwork is bad.  There are plenty of legitimate artists who sell digitally crafted portraits and paintings of people, cats, dachshunds or whatever their customers want. Digital artists can be just as talented as an old-fashioned painter using a real brush. They just use a computer screen instead of a canvas.
